Salon History
Sweet Trash was the brainchild of Lee-Ann MacKenzie, who opened a lovely little vintage clothing store in Elora in 2003. After 2 moves, it is currently located in the grand 2-storey century home at 22 Metcalfe Street.
In August of 2009, the current owner, Terri Allan, went to the store to look for a dress for an upcoming 40’s dance and fell in love with the store. She purchased Sweet Trash on December 1, 2009, and while there have been some changes to the store, she continues Lee-Ann’s legacy to carry only the best quality vintage clothing and accessories.
Terri has a background in pattern design and dressmaking, and loves all things vintage and historical. She previously owned her own business designing and creating wedding gowns, one-of-a-kind dresses and costumes, and does all of the alterations and custom sewing for Sweet Trash.
Her assistant, Patti, has been with Sweet Trash Vintage Clothier since its inception, and is the darling diva of Sweet Trash. Her expertise in vintage fashion, and exquisite taste has made her an asset to both our shop and its customers.
